Is Kerry REALLY apologizing?

According to news sources John Kerry apologized for his remarks regarding those serving in the military. This is what thepress said "Sen. John Kerry bowed to bipartisan pressure yesterday and apologized for insulting U.S. troops earlier this week when he suggested that a lack of wits and poor academic performance had landed them on the front lines of Iraq."

But did Kerry really apologize for his remarks. Lets take a look. Here is what he said: "I sincerely regret that my words were misinterpreted to wrongly imply anything negative about those in uniform, and I personally apologize to any service member, family member, or American who was offended,"

If you break it down he is NOT apologizing for what he said. He is apologizing for what people like you and I THOUGHT he said. It is aparently our fault that we "misinterpreted" his words. I know I didn't "misinterpret" what he said and I'm sure you didn't either.

We need an apology from Sen. Kerry where he takes responsibility for what he said not apolgizing for our "misinterpreted" version. He needs to just come out and say. "I'm sorry for what I said." Not I'm sorry your too stupid to understand what I meant to say.

As far as I'm concerned Mr Kerry has not apologized and still owes one to all of the men and women who have served and are serving their country in the military.

Apologize for real Mr Kerry. We're not going to tolerate your lawyer's parsing of words. Apologize!

T.O.P.

i feel kerry can say what he feels as we can and are free to say what ever here in the u.s.a. and those that came here to be free need to understand, thay asked to be here we did not ask them and they can always leave at anytime.kerry i feel could of said it different but he chose not too as our troops are only doing as ordered to do and its always been the military way to put the more un-educated on the front line thats why they used to have the draft years ago. so he don't have to say he is sorry to anybody not you,or me either, its a free america yet and those who don't like it can return to there old way of life and place they came from.

Senator Kerry doe have the right to say whatever he wants. I'm one of those uneducated folks who spent 30 years on the front line fighting to preserve his right as well as yours to say what you want. The nice part about actualy serving your country and fighting to preserve the right of free speech is that your protecting your own right to disagree with Senator Kerry and folks like you.

Your wrong about the military putting the uneducated on the front lines just as you are misinformed about the purpose and history of the draft.

You, like Mr. Kerry, are in error when you either state or insinuate that our men and women in uniform are "uneducated" they are far from that. Most have some college, many have degrees including advanced degrees Masters and PhD. I'm speaking of the "uneducated" enlisted personnel. When we speak of the officers who also are on the front line all have a minimum of a bachelor's degree and many more advanced degrees again Master's and PhD.s

In today's world where our more liberal politicians want apologies for everyting, it's only fitting that Mr. Kerry apologize to the military not apologize for their misunderstanding of what he stated but for what he actually said. Does he have to? No he has the right to say what he wants. Just as those of us who have served in the military have the right to demand a real apology from him.

Maybe returning to the old way of life where we held our leaders accountable for what they say and do wouldn't be such a bad thing.
